Where the work actually happens

The committee coordinates, but the union's work between meetings runs through five working groups. Any member can join one: you do not have to be elected to the committee. If you want to help shape campaigns, organise your workplace, run the union's public voice, keep the books honest, or support students moving into practice, this is where you do it.

  • Campaign and Policy

What the union stands for and fights for. Drafts submissions, develops policy on live industry issues, and builds the evidence behind member demands.

  • Organising

Where the union gets built, conversation by conversation. Trains organisers, backs delegates, maps where influence sits in firms, and stands with members on workplace issues.

  • Communications

The union's public voice — social, newsletter, website, press, events, visual identity. Shapes how the union speaks to members, the profession, and the public.

  • Governance and Infrastructure

The union's constitutional, legal, financial, and digital foundations. Keeps the books, the rules, the systems, and the tools running so every other group can do its work.

  • Students

The union inside Australian schools of architecture. Organises student members, runs campaigns on student conditions, and moves graduates into workplace organising as they enter practice.
